A Yowah Nut is a small rounded ironstone concretion that may contain either Opal or Opal matrix. It can be found in the Opal fields that surround a small outback town by the name of Yowah some 1000 kilometres west of Brisbane in Queensland Australia. The numerous Opal fields that surround Yowah are mined mainly by hand as opposed to by machinery and are world famous.
Once the Yowah Nut is cracked open by some sharp implement, it can reveal either a beautiful Opal crystal or a deep strong ironstone containing fantastic patterns with inclus
ions of vibrant colour, making the Nut highly collectable and found nowhere else in the world other than in Queensland. Australian Opals were used by Aboriginal Shamen to induce visions, also by the native American Indians to induce a dreamlike state.
The vibrant colours of the Yowah Nut have a strong feminine energy, very gentle yet strong, very beautiful and elegant, nurturing, very much from the crystal heart of Mother Earth that has nurtured us so well for so long as does a mother for her child for its lifetime.
