Elohim: A Theory of Spiritual Evolution (told in the form of a Creation Story)
Once upon an eternity, within the Temple of Vision in the Celestial Palace Elohim finalised the remaining details for the forthcoming Act of Creation. The Laws of Physics were concluded. The Rules of Time founded. The Nature of Life established. And the topography of the physical universe was mapped out one last time, in order to ensure that all of the planets which were to host life would be located at just the right distance to nearby stars so that their life-sustaining rays would provide the necessary warmth and energy to make complex life possible. Yes, finally, everything was ready.
Faster than thought, The High Council of Elohim reviewed the data presented to them by the Prime Elohim. They agreed with the aims and conclusions set out before them and the process by which these goals would be achieved and, therefore, ratification was given. All aspects of Elohim were in agreement - as was to be expected of the harmonious nature of God. Being both omnipotent (All-powerful) and omniscient (All-knowing), fortuitously, the Elohim had included contingency plans for dealing with a possible outbreak of Evil that might occur during the Act of Creation, due to the existence of another, contradictory power. Elohim knew that an eternity away there existed another who was not like Them, who, rather than epitomising pure harmony and total Love instead embodied pure chaos and total Evil. A being called Angra Mainyu! Therefore it was as a direct result of the knowledge of the existence of Angra Mainyu that these vital contingency plans had been established.
Unaware of what was taking place, on the otherside of Nowhere a brooding Dark Force existed. Filled with rage and a desire to hurt the frustration felt by this eternal entity knew no bounds. For longer than it is possible to imagine Angra Mainyu wanted to destroy, but had nothing to destroy. Wanted to hurt, but had no-one to hurt. Wanted to kill but had no-one to kill. The disappointment was unbearable and it generated a rage of unimaginable proportions. That was, until one day, when Angra Mainyu suddenly sensed that he was not alone. In a moment he became aware of the incredible fact that Another existed who was more powerful and more knowledgeable than he. What’s more, this Other, Angra Mainyu sensed, manifested the total antithesis of his cruel nature. Where he was one, alone, this being was many, a family, One Elohim, many members. Where he was filled with rage and hate, this being was full of harmony and love. And the knowledge of the existence of the Other filled Angra Mainyu with a fury that he’d never before experienced.
At this exact moment, in a time outside of time, Elohim sensed the increased hatred emanating from the otherside of Nowhere. Elohim had always been aware of a powerful, yet lesser being existing in the Great Expanse of Nothing, but, with omniscient awareness, knowing of the cruel nature of this other had chosen to remain outside of the perceptual awareness of the hate-filled entity who brooded on the otherside of Nowhere. Good and Evil cannot co-exist. However, logically, the fact that Evil existed at all necessitated that Elohim allow Angra Mainyu to become aware of the existence of Elohim and The Act of Creation. The reason? Choice. Not Elohim’s choice, as Elohim, being a Being of Pure Love would never, could never choose Evil. No, The Great Choice was to be made by others who did not yet exist, but who were destined to become eternal co-creators as Children of Elohim.
And then the moment finally arrived. After an eternity of planning it was time to begin. First of all there was a tremendous explosion of physical matter as Elohim created the building blocks of the physical universe. This was swiftly followed by a sound of unimaginable intensity in the form of a ‘Big Bang’, that could be heard from one side of creation to the other. And as matter burst into existence for the very first time, as One, together, Elohim spoke the words: ‘Let there be Light’ and stars began to form. And as Elohim viewed the Act of Creation They saw that all was good. Everything was perfect.
Meanwhile, as Angra Mainyu watched the birth of the physical universe his anger knew no bounds. Sensing that he was the lesser of the two powers, but motivated by sociopathic foolishness (which cannot stop itself from doing something stupid even when the perpetrator knows that eventually they will suffer for their actions) he vented his fury at the new realm which was being born before his very eyes and spitefully projected elements of his diabolical nature into the process so that Evil would become co-mingled with Good in a way that could never exist in the Heavenly Realm. Into purity came the impure. Into perfection came imperfection. Into a realm of harmony came discord. Into a universe of Love came Hate. And so the two forces became co-mingled. Side by side Light and Darkness, Good and Evil were destined to exist, for a time, bringing with them all of the possible potential contradictions that can occur when two contradictory natures exist in the same environment.
And together as One, the Elohim wept, for the first time in eternity, as they foresaw the many years of pain, suffering, tragedy and unfairness that would, from this moment forth, be mixed with all of the happiness and peace, accomplishment and fairness that would exist in Creation, until the time of the Great Separation, when, once more, for the rest of eternity Angra Mainyu and Evil would be isolated, never again to besmirch existence. But before this could occur first of all The Great Choice needed to be made! And this choice was not a choice that either Angra Mainyu or The Elohim could make, because their characters were set, intrinsic to their very nature. No, The Great Choice was to be made by others.
So, into this new physical realm the Elohim set in motion an evolutionary process that would result in many forms of life emerging over billions of years, across many planets, occurring in phases, until it was time for Elohim to speak the momentous words: ‘Let US make man in OUR image after OUR Likeness’. At which point the evolutionary process was nudged in a certain direction and a branch of the various kinds of Hominid family that had developed across the Universe began to diverge until, over time, the first humanoids walked the cosmos. And so the possibility of moral choice was born. Existing in a universe filled with the potential for Good and for Evil, the innumerable souls which the Elohim were birthing would be born into physical worlds and then slowly, over many incarnations, learn to exercise the power of discernment in order to choose Good over Evil. And this learning process would continue until a time when all of the new souls had matured and thereby reached a point at which choosing evil would no longer be an option, because, through both personal experience and by intelligent observation of the tragic results that can occur when evil choices are made, on global scales, a time would be reached when no mature soul would ever be so foolish as to make an evil choice again. And so The Great Choice would be made. At this monumental moment in history, the Evil Angra Mainyu would be isolated by the omnipotent Elohim, never again to be free to inflict suffering on the Children of God, who at this stage in the evolutionary process will have become adults and co-inheritors of the harmonious nature of The Elohim, in their own right, of which family they would now be part.
So, as The Elohim looked forward through the passage of time to this guaranteed point in history They rejoiced at the New Age which is destined to occur, as a result of having carefully taken account of every eventuality, including the potential for children, at first, to make bad decisions under the influence of Angra Mainyu but then over time to learn from the results of their decisions in order to reach a state of perfection - and the corresponding desire to always make good decisions. And Elohim saw that this was good.
As time progressed and the spiritual evolutionary process developed, throughout the ages Elohim sent messengers, called variously, prophets, saints, mystics, shaman, mediums and channellers to the various planets and peoples who exist to remind them, albeit dimly, sometimes, due to our imperfect nature and the inability, of some, to fully comprehend the glorious message that a Perfect Plan is in motion, the result of which is that we are always moving collectively in the direction of Spiritual Evolution - and the more completely we embrace the process the sooner the total realisation of our Perfect Nature will be revealed! And deep within the souls of each new member of the humanoid family Elohim installed something called a conscience which would always let us know, in the very core of our being, how to live like God, with lovingkindness, and it would also serve to warn us when we were erring from the path. What’s more, as a special gift, Elohim gave us the ability to talk to God through a direct line of communication with the Heavenly Realm called prayer, coupled with the ability to receive answers in reply, through our intuition. And, like a loving parent, on a daily basis Elohim whispers to all of the humanoids who exist throughout the entire universe, to remind us of our eventual destiny; to inspire us to continue to make good choices and to reject the competing influence of Angra Mainyu - which only leads to chaos, destruction and death. And as a result it’s possible, today, for those who think about such things, to notice a gradual spiritual evolutionary process at work in the worlds.
And in the Temple of Vision, in the Celestial Palace, as you read these words Elohim looks upon Creation and smiles a smile that foretells the complete success of the Great Plan. And if you listen carefully, every day of your life you can hear whispered words of Heavenly encouragement, spoken especially to you... as you continue to learn to make good choices and evolve spiritually.
The end (of the beginning).

Note 1:
If you’re one of the souls who think about the contradictory nature of Creation and why Good and Evil co-exist, when you have a spare moment take some time to consider how, albeit slowly by human standards, it could be argued that an evolutionary process is at work on a spiritual level as well as on a physical level. Notice too how as this process continues it gives rise to greater levels of moral awareness and of the ability both individually and collectively for people to choose right from wrong. Observe how, on the whole, deep down inside, most people know the difference between the two options of right and wrong. And I believe, with the knowledge of the Great Choice, the potential for spiritual evolution is guaranteed.

Note 2:
It’s postulated by some scholars that the word ‘Elohim’ (as used in the Bible) indicates more than one member of the One god-head. For those who are interested, here’s a link to some information on the potentially multifaceted nature of God (Elohim):

Note 3:
And here’s a link to some information about Zoroastrianism, which contains the belief that two eternal beings exist, one Good, one Evil (Angra Mainyu)... and which predicts a time when the Evil One shall be restrained.
